It was bespoke made in 1951 by a tailor named J. T. Wikstrm, based in Bredbyn, a small locality in northern Sweden. The coat is made from a substantial reddish brown wool fabric with a distinct herringbone weave. It is constructed with flat felled seams, which were very typical of the period. This means that the seam allowances are folded in and stitched down, reinforcing the structure
