Late 1800s Chinese Bronze Statue of Two Cranes On Decorated Base stein full of life and sparklePresented is a fine quality antique Chinese bronze figure of a standing pair of cranes, dating to the late 1800s. The cranes are nicely detailed and well modeled, shown as an adult and juvenile, the larger of the pair with a plant stalk in its beak. The cranes are standing on an attached four legged base, with a Chinese Meander type design around the sides. Possibly intended as a calligraphy brush hanger, as that is a popular form, and there is a hole
