Raffan Mill broken down a stretch of the cityRaffan's Mill at Portland Cement Works, photographed in 2018. Rusting machinery and crumbling concrete pillars fill the cavernous single level brick structure, which predates the Commonwealth Portland Cement Company works entirely. Built around 1889 for George Raffan's lime and cement operation, the mill once housed four 1,200 mm diameter Burr Stone Mills. Part of the Portland Cement Works series.
